Blu-ray does NOT have a no porn policy

Contrary to previous reports and industry rumor, the Blu-ray Disc Association does NOT have an anti-porn policy. At least, that’s what the Vice Chair of the Blu-Ray Disc Associations’ US Promotions Committee says (Marty Gordon).

“There is not a prohibition against adult content. The BDA is an open organization that welcomes the participation of all companies interested in using and supporting the format, including those that represent the full spectrum of genres in the content industry. Blu-ray’s superior capacity has attracted support from virtually every major Hollywood studio and gives content providers the best possible platform for delivering their content in high definition. We look forward to working any content providers interested in providing their audience with best possible high definition home entertainment experience.”

This comment given by an official Blu-ray Disc Association representative should quiet down the rumors that have been propagating around the net regarding Blu-ray and porn. This issue can finally be put to rest. If an Adult Content Film studio really wants to get their films produced on Blu-ray Disc, then it is possible to do so.
