Well, I took full advantage of the Blockbuster promotion. Traded in another 3 Netflix “tear-offs” yesterday. So I received 6 total freebies from Blockbuster. Did anyone else manage to get more free rentals than 6?

I had a similar experience during the last promotion like this. The guy looked at me like I was nuts and said “uh, we’re Blockbuster, these here are for Netflix.” So I explained the promo to him, which he hadn’t heard of, so I went to the front of the store to look for the promo literature that they had out, and showed it to him. He had to call over his supervisor to get the discount done and for me to get my free movies.

The supervisor mentioned that they don’t get why corp was doing it, so I said “it’s to try and get people to switch over to Blockbuster Online.” She just said “Well, it doesn’t do much good if their already members (referring to the fact that I had BBO returns as well, since I was doing that trial during that time period.) Nothing she could do about it though,

I think I got 6 free rentals that day, 3 from Netflix, 3 from my BBO returns.

I exchanged some Netflix labels at Blockbuster last night. It wasn’t the easiest process in the world, but at least it yielded some free rentals.

First off, the guy at the counter didn’t even know about the new offer, he started out by telling me that “this promotion had expired”.

I informed him that I had JUST read a press release that detailed the promo for this week, and he then went and verified it with a supervisor on duty.

In order to credit me for my Netflix tear-offs, he had to manually punch in a promo code for each movie, which took him awhile. So don’t expect to just run in there and run out.

Either way, thanks to Blockbuster for the free movie rentals!

Hmm, too bad I’m out of town, otherwise I might go in to take advantage of this, of course, I would never switch to Blockbuster Online. Oh well, it’s not even that great anyways considering I’d have to make 2 special trips (one to pick up the movie, another to drop it off.)

Should note that you have to have a Blockbuster account. If you don’t have one you will have to sign up. This account doesn’t have to be the Total Access account.
