Flexplay spotted at Staples

Flexplay spotted at Staples

This morning I stopped off at Staples and while I was on my way out I noticed a display for Flexplay. If you remember, I wrote a not-so-friendly piece on this bogus technology a couple weeks ago. Now that it’s really real, I certainly have to question the judgment of these companies.

So far it looks like nobody has bought one disc from this location. As you can tell from the picture it looks like a couple movies were picked up and placed back in their homes. Obviously once the customer saw what it was they decided not to buy it. You’ll have to forgive me for not asking anyone if there was any interest; it slipped my mind at the time.

You have to wonder what kind of fury Staples will see when someone picks up a movie as an impulse buy on the way out the door only to realize what evil creation it is at home.

  1. This is another dumb idea that won’t last 3 months. It’s another chance for Paramount and Dreamworks to pick up some more free cash from gullable manufacturers, like they did from Toshiba’s HD-DVD. Don’t companies like Flexplay think these ideas out first?
