Free Digital TV Converter Boxes

Free Digital TV Converter Boxes

As part of our on-going coverage of the digital switchover of over-the-air broadcast television, we’re going to show you how to obtain digital converter boxes for zero out of pocket cost.

On February 17th, 2009, all full power television stations in the United States will switch from analog to 100% digital. If your television does not have a digital tuner, you will need a digital converter box in order to view over-the-air television broadcasts. This only applies to signals obtained with an antenna. Cable and satellite signals are not affected.

Sunkey SK-801ATSC

FreeTVSignal is offering Sunkey SK-801 ATSC digital converter boxes for $40 with free shipping and no tax (except for Florida residents). This is an excellent deal, especially combined with the 2 free $40 coupons from the Government, which are good towards the purchase of digital converter boxes.

If you use over the air broadcast television and you don’t want to fork out cash for digital tuners, get on this deal! For reviews and discussion of this digital converter box, check out this thread on AVSForum.

Free Digital TV converter box update: FreeTVSignal is now offering the Artec T3AP Digital converter boxes for $40 with free shipping and no tax (except FL). This Artec digital converter box has also received pretty good reviews online. If you’ve still got a valid DTV coupon, you can still obtain a box absolutely free from FreeTVSignal.com.

  1. Thanks for this post. One of my TV’s need a converter box and I havn’t had the time to find out where to get them. I also heard about the government coupons so thanks again for the link.

  2. Good article – thanks for posting it. Do you happen to know of any converters that output component (YPbPr) video? How about digital audio on fiberoptic?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  3. Thanks for your tips here. It is nothing better than ” free” TV converter box, “free” shipping too.

  4. Hey Daniel NY, it looks like FreeTVSignal.com is having web server issues at the moment. I was on the site earlier today and it was working just fine. Hopefully they’ll resolve the issue soon.

  5. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

I placed an order for a converter box on 1/8/09 and it’s yet to even be shipped! They replied to an email stating that they were waiting on an order of boxes. But when I ordered their site claimed the box was in-stock. They stated my order would be shipped within the next 10 days. It’s not been shipped yet!

I’ve dealt with companies that never have the item in-stock and place the order to China when they get the order. Those items arrive sooner. This company is shady!

However, they had no problem immediately taking my $40 government coupon.
