Netflix streaming becomes ubiquitous
The number of products shows at CES 2010 with Netflix streaming is remarkable. Netflix has announced partnerships with Toshiba, Sanyo, Panasonic, Sharp, and even discount brands Haier and Funai. Practically everyone not named Pioneer has Netflix streaming implemented in Blu-ray Disc players, network video set-top boxes, and HDTVs. Netflix expects over 100 devices will stream their Watch Instantly videos in 2010.
It seems like many people are adopting a multiple-sources approach to getting their online video. A Netflix subscription supplemented by rentals from another source, like iTunes, Amazon Video On Demand, or Vudu, seems to be the most frequent.
Do you stream video to your main television? If so, what providers do you use?
Currently I use a Roku HD box and a PS3 to stream video to my TV’s. Our primary (95%) streaming content is Netflix, with some other sources thrown in there once in awhile.
I’m relying mostly on Hulu, as I’m a big Heroes fan and I can’t wait until the season is released on Netflix.
I’ve used Amazon On-Demand, but I find the pricing to be a bit high; for such a limited time that they allow us to use the content.
Netflix has become less helpful in the last few months. They just don’t seem to release anything worth watching, it’s as if the good movies are already blocked, or maybe I’ve just become more picky. 😛
Anyway, I use the Playon software to stream all this content from all the providers to my X-box. Nothing like having all my chooses in one place!

I am watching the current season of Heroes on Netflix in HD directly on my PS3. The new episodes appear the day after it airs.
