TWC TV app coming to Samsung Smart TVs

Time Warner Cable subscribers with Samsung Smart TVs will soon have access to the TWC TV app, providing access to over 5,000 Video On Demand titles without a set-top box. What this means is you can use your TV’s integrated cable tuner and still have access to video on demand from Time Warner Cable without a set-top box.

The TWC TV application will be available free on the Smart Hub on 2012 model year and later Samsung Smart TVs. Available content vary depending on video subscription package.

If you haven’t cut the cord yet, you will probably still want an HD DVR to record content. But if you don’t have a TV package but you are getting internet from Time Warner Cable, this may entice you to add on the basic cable package to gain access to the on demand content without the additional expense of a set-top box and the channel packages that comes with.
