Examples of essential technologies

Essential Technology is a term used to describe a group of technologies that enable our modern lifestyles. Essential Technology refers to a wide range of devices, from mobile phones to laptops, online casinos, to tablets, to drones. These ubiquitous technologies are now integral to every aspect of daily life. Let’s see below the examples of essential technologies.

Mobile telephone

In the past decades, the mobile telephone has had a huge impact on society and the economy. It changed fundamentally how we communicate with each other. Today, its usage is widespread across generations and genders. The growth in mobile phone use has been exponential, not only due to the advances and improvements made in cellular technology but also to the development of new applications which connect people from all corners of the globe.

Television

Television was invented in 1895 by Philo T. Farnsworth (who is considered the father of television). Today many types of electronic media allow us to watch TV shows and movies – including video-on-demand (VOD), DVD or BluRay, high-definition televisions (HDTVs), internet streaming services and personal computers. Watching television is often a passive experience, but it can be more interactive if you have a smart device such as a tablet, smartphone or real online pokies game console. You can even make your videos using any webcam connected to your computer or via apps like Skype, Google Hangouts or FaceTime, for example.

Computer

A computer is a general-purpose machine aimed at processing information. Computers were first invented in the 1940s and became popular since they were widely used during the 1960s and 1970s. Although their cost dropped significantly over time, computers remain rather expensive compared to calculators.

Automobiles and Transportation

Transportation includes modes of transportation, such as aviation, automobiles, public transit, walking etc. While automobiles are the most common form of transport, bicycles, trains, planes and ships are some of the others. There have been great historical advances in automotive design. From the horse-drawn carriage, the bicycle and early cars were built in the 19th century. To the combustion engine, automobile air conditioning and acceleration in the 20th century. In the 21st century, self-driving cars will become prevalent and may eliminate taxi drivers in cities due to their increased safety and lower carbon emissions. To make this happen, autonomous vehicle hardware and software need to be developed.

In conclusion, these are just four examples of how technology has altered our lives. For instance, there’s no way that anyone could ever plan and perform surgery without electricity. But the ability to create lightweight durable surgical tools to cut and repair human tissue would have been impossible before the advent of electricity.
